About me

Greetings traveller, my name is Simon Hodges,

I am a graduate from studying at the University of Bolton, where I am specialising in Visual Effects. During this time I have works on small 8 week projects by myself and some longer ones in groups. I would say that I am an all-round VFX generalist, with projects covering fully 3D generated scenes and some wholly created in 2D post production.

Whilst at university I have gained knowledge in the use of Maya and Photoshop to a level to create advanced 3D geometry with detailed textures. I am also an adaptive learner and enjoy to try and further my knowledge in any area of the VFX pipeline, and enjoy to be in a creative atmosphere.

I have also been working alongside Strikethrough Media to improve my video filming and editing skills. During my time with them they have helped me to understand composition better and various transition skills and most recently have helped them to film a charity music festival.

In my spare time I enjoy gaming, whether that be on my pc, with a console with friends, or all sat around the table indulging in some card or board games. I also make a decent dungeon master in games of dungeons and dragons, able to think fast and adapt the story to the decisions of the players to make their experience as much fun for them as I can. At weekends I often attend an Airsoft site in Halkyn north wales where I can be seen either as a player or as the sites press team taking many photos and videos.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about my work or if you are interested in any kind of collaboration.
